Average
Three are three exams in this class and they will be your grade. The first exam is 25%, the second is 35% and the last is 40%. There are no quizzes or home work to boost your grade. She talks a lot! Stay awake in class, follow the study guide and make connections with your classmates!
Good
Thought this would be an easy A...was dead wrong. She gives three exams (lecture based) and let me tell you: THEY ARE HARD! Studied for hours.. made flash card (40 of them) read the chapters and got a 91. She knows what she's talking about but it was VERY hard.
Good
Good professor. Most test material comes from class. Don't miss class. Take good notes and you'll find the tests are not that hard. The course has three tests only.
Awful
Attendance isn't really required but you won't pass if you don't show up in class. She goes over the same stuff in class so reading the chapter is actually pointless. If it doesn't come easy, study. Grades come from 3 exams and no final. I find it hard to listen to her. She tries to make the class interesting but it doesn't really work. She also knows her stuff.
Good
You can tell that Prof. Lipsmeyer knows her stuff and that she's passionate about it. She does not take attendance and in-class questions. If you don't pay attention in class, you will definitely fail. She's a good prof but she has a unique sense of humor. Honestly, I would love to take her again. You just need to be on top of everything and you also have to read.
Awful
This was very much a teach yourself situation. There was no notes, powerpoints or anything. She says everything just once. If you miss something you, you better have a friend because she won't repeat it again. She doesn't like to answer questions and won't define, spell, or clarify terms on review day. Unorganized lectures made for all over the place notes.
Awesome
She honestly deserves better reviews. Her class requires hardly any outside class time besides exam weeks. There is no homework, the lectures are straightforward, and there is only three exams. For the 3 exams you have to study a LOT ahead of time. But she doesn't try to trick you on the exams. They will come straight from the lectures, so be sure to go to class.
Awesome
Professor Lipsmeyer' s class is lectured based and I think she does a great day. She talked at a good typing speed and made sure to talk about just the important stuff, unlike other professors who go on about nonsense that would not have anything to do with your tests. I would take it again.
Awesome
I absolutely love Professor Lipsmeyer. She's a very passionate one. Her class isn't easy, but she describes everything perfectly. She made learning interesting and will give you fun ways to remember things. All you have to do is to attend her class, pay attention, and study what she told you to, then you're fine. Even if attendance is not a must, don't screw yourself by not attending the class.
Good
Professor Lipsmeyer will tell you how to take his exams. Comparisons are the key to how he shapes his questions. If you miss the class, then you'll miss a lot of information. And the book won't help you, so don't miss lectures. She's clear and very organized in her lectures. I got an A by studying as she recommended.
