Average
Her notes are not very clear and she goes over the slides very quickly. She is often late for class. She tries to explain things but it doesn't work for most of the class. On the bright side, she curves tests by A LOT and provides 25 points for the final grade. It takes her about a week to grade exams and papers
Good
Prof. Mullen is an amazing professor. She is super sweet and she teaches Organic really well. If you like to get your tests back early, do not take her. Otherwise, she's a good choice. She's responsive to emails. You will really have to work for your grade because the class is undeniably hard.
Awful
Prof. Mullen is a sweet woman who really cares about her students, but she lacks professionalism. It actually took her 3 weeks to grade my section's first exams (even though the other section got them back in only 2) and she even promised for this second round they'd be back in a week, but it took her another 3 weeks. She's also late to lectures and exams.
Awesome
I haven't had Professor Mullen for too long. However, as somebody with mental illness, on the first day of class she'll let us know that she's a mental health advocate. And, that she's willing to work within the parameters of our disease. I can say, she's been different from other professors I've had so far. I highly recommend her for anybody with mental illness that needs extra encouragement.
Awesome
Prof. Mullen is pretty amazing! She gives exams that are super easy! She's very caring but she's really disorganized and she takes too long to grade us. If you are okay with waiting too long for grades, I'd recommend her and just go to her office hrs whenever you're struggling.
Poor
Professor Mullen, was fine when classes were in person. But since the transitioning to online class took place, it became more difficult. Organic Chemistry was quite difficult though. However, she showed no real initiative to ensure that her classification and testing standards, were fair and comparable at the beginning of the semester. Also, she didn't really curved the grades, added that grading took forever.
Awesome
She is always in her office and is very approachable. It's obvious that she enjoys teaching. When classes switched online in March, it was difficult, but I did well in class. The tests are difficult, but they are curved. Practice previous semester's examinations and ALWAYS attend class. In the fall, I'll be taking Ochem 2 with her again!
Awesome
Doctor Mullen is one of the most caring professors I've ever had. The online classes were difficult for everyone, but she made sure we all learned. Yes, Organic Chemistry is hard, but she tries as much as possible to help us all.
Awful
Professor Mullen is very unorganized, late for class all the time, and a very slow grader. The final exam is tomorrow, and she has not responded to anyone or come to the office in over a week. She said she was going to give us at least a list of topics to focus on, but she didn't. Honestly, she's the only chemistry teacher I've ever heard of who took the final exam.
Poor
When transitioning from regular classes to online classes, Doctor Mullen increased the workload heavily. She anticipates that she would be teaching the class every day. Although she was available, she set unrealistic expectations and did not give proper notes. I wouldn't recommend her because she's unorganized.
