Dissertation Title: “The Invisible Struggle: Understanding the Plights and Success Strategies of Low-Income Single Mothers in Undergraduate Programs”\n\nUsing Schlossberg’s Transition Theory
the study findings demonstrate how best to support low-income single mother students. The data also found the perceived threat of stigmatization on campus served to diminish the women’s determined mindset needed to complete their undergraduate degree.

and social context of public education in the Chicagoland area. Students also hone their teaching skills within our classroom and participate in a field experience at a Dual Language School in the Pilsen neighborhood. College Success strategies are infused into the course materials and assignments.
