Funny, sweet and cheerful guy. Exceptional teacher, relay his knowledge in a way that makes sense, even to those they are not finance majors. Hard class, but his grading system helps a lot. Definitely recommend taking him.

I really love Prof. Whaley. You can tell that he's really passionate about his job and he's always so sweet and happy. Finance isn't an easy class and I honestly struggled not going to class. Attendance isn't mandatory but it's really helpful and he also gives you study guides. Overall, he's a great guy!

Prof. Whaley made this class as tolerable as possible. He provides the test with the study guide and practice problems, so you won't have to show up in class to learn the material. He made the lectures entertaining with his jokes. He also loves to throw out random bonus points on tests. I highly recommend taking him for ECON 302.

Prof. Whaley is an awesome teacher! He can be boring at times but that's quite expected since it is a finance class. As long as you put in effort, this class will be easy for you. His grading system makes it hard to come out with anything lower than a B.

For a finance professor, he was quite amusing. The class was kind of dull but all FI302 classes are. He will take the time to meet with you outside of class and he is nice and caring. He also responds quickly to email questions, and the way he divides the grades for exams will help you a ton! I definitely recommend taking him for FI302.
