I study Comparative Politics with a focus on Central/Southwest Asia, Russian Federation, and U.S. foreign policy. I have published in Nationalities Papers, Canadian Slavonic Papers, U.S. Army War College Quarterly, The Journal of Energy and Development, East European Quarterly, Asia Policy, Asian Affairs, Strategic Analysis, Vedomosti, The Astana Times, Region: Regional Studies of Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia, and the SAIS Review of International Affairs. I teach on a variety of subjects such as democratization, political violence, research methods, and U.S./Russian/Eurasian politics.
