If you need to fill an elective slot as a BUS major, this isn't the right choice. If you play an instrument that isn't singing then this class is easy. This class was no joke. Really nice and helpful professor however, the work can be hard though.

Professor Hughes is amazing and goes over the material very well. However, don't take this class without prior musical knowledge. Also, if you're not interested in learning to read music or play an instrument, don't take this class. Moreover, do not take this course, and I cannot stress this enough, to take an easy A elective.

I had Doctor Hughes for the history of Rock N' Pop and I thought she did an amazing job. She's a fair grader and provided excellent feedback on written assignments. We also covered some great materials in the class too. Also, there were frequent writing assignments given, as well as some longer papers and a few exams. Overall, she's a great teacher and it's a great class.

I had Professor Hughes for History of R&P, World Music, and Music Fundamentals. She's the definition of eccentric. She constantly makes small pop culture references or makes funny gestures, so it may or may not be your favorite thing. However, I respect her for trying to spice things up. Moreover, there's no harsh deadline in her class. And if you ask for some more time, she'll gladly allow it.

I believe she's an awesome teacher. We're in college, and it's not like you can just skip class and not take part and still get an A. You definitely put in the effort and when you do, it totally pays off. The class can be dull if nobody gets involved. Getting involved makes it fun and interesting. I seriously wish all the teachers taught the way she does. Overall, it's an amazing class.
