Dr. Rev Sarah Halverson has been a close friend and colleague for over 17 years. When she asked for help updating her website and weekly e-newsletters
and managing her web presence
I was delighted to assist. I linked her to my network of web designers who re-designed her church's website free-of-charge
aided her in selecting a mail-host client that better met her needs
taught her to use WordPress
Constant Contact
Google Analytics
and social media aggregators like HootSuite and TweetDeck.

Thesis: Network Theory and Political Revolution: A Case Study of the Role of Social Media in the Diffusion of Twitter Commnunication During the Egyptian Revoution
The main goal of this study was to achieve a qualitative understanding of the use and influence of Twitter communication during the 2011 Egyptian uprisings. By charting the physical map of the information-spreading that occurred through the Twitter platform during the protests
the relationship between the rise and influence of new media
and engagement of the publics was achieved. Merging social network analysis and content analysis methodologies
content from Twitter was analyzed and major hubs of influence were identified. Network theory (Watts & Strogatz
1998) served as the framework for understanding how the dispersal of information through virtual networks played a role in facilitating communication
as well as the significance of organically hierarchical power in a network society. As individual users engage with the Twitter platform
the traditional role of mainstream media organizations in the creation and dissemination of information is evolving. This study examined the role of individuals and organizations
and the tangible influence of each when communication is facilitated through a virtual social network.
