Awful
Total lack of organization in and out of the classroom!
Awesome
Prof. Riess class is a good intro for someone who's deeply connected to geology. This class would really require studying but she went above and beyond to help those who are struggling. Mineral/rock ID exams in lab were intimidating but you can definitely do it. Field trip was also a nice chance to see rocks out in the wild with someone who actually knows the rocks.
Awesome
Make sure to keep up because she's more than happy to help you get an A!!
Awesome
Prof. Carolyn gives good lectures and she's very approachable! This isn't an easy course, but she's really helpful. I suggest you don't skip lectures and do the weekly quizzes. Labs were interactive and fun as well! Super interesting!
Awesome
Prof. Carolyn was awesome! You can see that she's very passionate about geology. You'll do fine on exams as long as you keep up with the chapter's quiz. Actually, even if you skim the chapter before lecture, that would be fine.
Awesome
Prof. Riess gives good lectures and handout, but you should still take notes. I suggest you memorize the minerals and rocks or else you'll get a bad lab grade. I actually took pictures, printed, and pasted on notecards. Stay off the phone, arrive on time, and limit leaving the classroom. I really learned a lot from this class. He's amazing!
Awesome
Prof. Carolyn is amazing! She gives clear grading criteria and instructions. To get a good grade, you must pay attention in lectures or read the book. If you study the material well, you can easily get an A. Professor Riess is well versed in geology and will help you with any questions you may have.
Awesome
At the beginning of the sem, Prof. Carolyn's course was really tough. I took advantage of her office hours whenever I wasn't sure of something. She's very helpful and responsive! I can see that she's really dedicated!
