Bakersfield, California Area
As an Environmental Geochemist, I have the privilege of being both Chemist, as well as Geologist. Utilizing my abilities as an Educator, I promote the Sciences as a means by which one might gain a better understanding of the intricate workings found within our surrounding environment.
Specialties: Toxic Trace Metal(loid) Remobilization, Pollutant Remediation, Marine Geochemistry & Biogeochemistry, Hydrogeology, Water Quality, Environmental Protection, Science Education.
Adjunct Faculty Professor - Geology & Chemistry
Instruction in Intermediate Chemistry Lecture & Laboratory, Introduction to Physical Geology Lecture and Introduction to Physical Geology Laboratory - CHEM 010, GEOL 001, and GEOL 002
Professor - Chemistry
Instruction in Introductory General Chemistry Lecture & Laboratory - CHEM B2A
6-Week Summer Session 2017: Compilation of PEARSON Collections Custom CHEM B2A - Introductory General Chemistry Laboratory Manual, CRN #50203. ISBN 10: 1323664203; ISBN 13: 978-1-323-66420-9. Also personally compiled and made available an MSDS Binder for all chemicals used during Lab experiments in the course.

Adjunct Professor - Earth Sciences
Instruction in Introduction to Earth Science Lecture - ERSC B10
Lecturer/Professor - Geology
Instruction in Introduction to Geology and Earth: The Blue Planet Earth System Science Laboratories - GEOL 101 and GEOL 309
Introduction to Geology Laboratory Field trip included viewing the segment of the San Andreas Fault located behind the CSUSB Campus.
Lecturer/Professor - Geology
Instruction in Introductory Geology, Introduction and Integrated Earth Sciences (including ITV courses), and Environmental Geology Lectures and Laboratories - GEOL 100, SCI 214 & SCI 325B, GEOL 205
All course contents above include the teaching of basic Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Oceanography and Meteorology principles. Introduction and Integrated Earth Sciences courses were geared toward training Education majors in the Geosciences (K-12) by utilizing California Science Content Standards.
Environmental Geology and Integrated Earth Science concentrate on both current Kern County issues in California, as well as on-going Global environmental problems, including water resources and water quality.
Custom created and edited the GEOL 205 (Environmental Geology) Laboratory Manual for Spring Quarter 2008 (ISBN: 978-0-536-19842-6) and Spring Quarter 2009 (ISBN: 978-0-558-14279-7) with the use of GEOS - Prentice Hall Custom Laboratory Program for the Earth Sciences.

C. Mei-Ling worked at Independent as a Research Consultant
Organized and presided over a full day Geochemistry (GEOC) Division Symposium, based on my accepted proposal, and entitled "Geohemical Implications in Toxic Trace Metal Remobilization from Sediments to the Surrounding Aqueous Environment" for the 241st ACS National Spring Meeting & Exposition in Anaheim, CA from March 27 - 31, 2011.
258th ACS National Fall Meeting & Exposition
"Chemistry and Water"
San Diego, CA August 25 - 29, 2019
GEOC Symposium Title: "Geogenic & Anthropogenic Sources of Trace Elements within Surface and Groundwater Systems and their Effects on Water Quality"

Dr. Jean J.-M. BOULEGUE - Advisor and Mentor
Graduate Research: The transfer of 13 trace metals from Hydrothermal vent (high temperature) and Subduction zone cold seep (low temperature) environments to their bioaccumulation within tissues of Bivalvia associated with these areas. Organ tissues (kidney, mantle, gill) were analyzed for these toxic and essential trace metals, then body burden results were compared to metal and metalloid availability measured within the surrounding geological environment.
