Prof. Dau is really an amazing professor! Coming from high school AP classes, it takes a little getting used to his preferences in writing. He is accessible after class and during his office hours though, as well as available through email for questions and feedback. He greatly cares about his students and will push them to be better.

Prof. Dau is all over the place! He gives an excessive work for a 101 class. He's also not clear on what he wants. He's not even responsive when you want a feedback on your work. I wouldn't recommend him at all.

Good
Dau is a complete hoot. He's one of the most entertaining and energetic lecturers I've had in a long time. He gives a lot of work and grades it really harshly, but he compensates with a lot of wiggle space and a re-write. He forces you to think thoroughly about the topics covered, and you will gain a lot from him. This is a challenging yet enjoyable class.
