Remaining on the academic side of the house, I have transitioned to an administrative role after 30+ years of experience in curriculum and instruction of World Languages with my focus in the field of American Sign Language & Interpreter Education (ASL&IE). My current research foci include: self-care for interpreters in the educational, medical/mental health, and legal settings; analysis and application of the multi-faceted system in ASL commonly known as "fingerspelling"; and, bridging the "ready to work" gap for ASL&IE graduates.

Instructed in American Sign Language and Linguistics; lead work group tasked with developing the intermediate level curriculum (ASL 201-202); developed Comparative Linguistics (ASL and English) course, ASL 355/555.
Director/Owner
Provide consulting and small-group facilitation services, as well as ASL-English interpretation services focusing on legal and political topics.
American Sign Language & Interpreter Education
Coordinate the ASL&IE Program, which includes three programmatic curricular options - transfer degree, terminal degree, and career studies certificate. About one-third of the 300+ students enrolled in program courses are taking ASL to satisfy the foreign-language requirement.
