I studied mathematics and physics in college and realized I wanted to pursue a degree in higher mathematics. In graduate school, I pursued my passion for teaching and student learning and earned a Doctor of Arts degree in Mathematics. My thesis is a textbook and set of supplemental materials for a course called "Concepts of Math". It is a transition course meant to guide students from computation-based high school math to more advanced and abstract college math; this is done by teaching them how to read, understand, and write mathematical proofs.
