He gives random pop quizzes so attendance is kind of mandatory. However, quizzes are not given ever lecture and you get 3 free passes as well. I would highly recommend him because he is a great professor. It's a very chill class but you still have to work hard to earn 100s on the assignments. Take advertising class with him!!!
