For the past 28 years, Bonnie Sudderth has served Texas citizens as a Judge. After earning her J.D. from the University of Texas Law School, she spent several years in the private practice of law, providing legal advice and representation to her clients. In 1990, Bonnie Sudderth was appointed to the City of Fort Worth Municipal Court, where she ruled in cases involving city ordinance violations and Class C misdemeanors. Bonnie Sudderth soon advanced to Chief Judge; in this capacity, she managed all 5 municipal courts in the Fort Worth Municipal Court system and managed a docket in which more than 300,000 cases were filed annually. When Tarrant County's 352nd District Court faced a judicial vacancy in 1996, Bonnie Sudderth won the Republican primary election and the seat. Bonnie Sudderth was re-elected four times. In 2015, Governor Rick Perry appointed Sudderth as Justice on the Second Court of Appeals. She was elected to the position in 2016. In 2017, Governor Greg Abbott appointed her to serve as Chief Justice of the Court, and she still holds the position today. Throughout her judicial career, Bonnie Sudderth has devoted herself to assisting current and future lawyers. Young lawyers associations have bestowed upon Judge Sudderth two awards recognizing her dedication as a mentor, the first as Outstanding Mentor of Tarrant County and the second as Outstanding Mentor in Texas. As an Adjunct Professor of Law since 1999, Bonnie Sudderth has guided Texas A&M Law School (formerly Texas Wesleyan Law School) students in the practice of civil trial law. In this position, Bonnie Sudderth earned an Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member Award from the school's alumni association. Bonnie Sudderth has been a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas for more than two decades. She is a Past President of the Eldon B. Mahon Inn of Court, Bonnie Sudderth is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law.

    The 352nd District Court is a district court which serves all citizens of Tarrant County, Texas. Judge Bonnie Sudderth has presided over the 352nd District Court since 1996, and, is the longest-serving judge in the history of the 352nd District Court. Although the 352nd District Court has general jurisdiction to hear civil, criminal, family and juvenile cases,in practice, the the statute which created the court directed that the court give preference to civil cases. Judge Sudderth presides over many different types of civil cases, including business entity disputes, class actions, commercial litigation, consumer litigation, contracts, debt collection, employment and discrimination cases, foreclosures, insurance cases and disputes, intellectual property disputes, medical and other professional malpractice lawsuits, oil and gas litigation, partnership dissolutions, personal injury lawsuits, premises security cases, property tax disputes, real estate ownership and title litigation, worker’s compensation appeals and wrongful death and survivorship actions.
