Professor Beshwate is very clear on his expectations. As long as you follow the instructions and put forth effort on the assignments, you will get a good grade. He has about two class discussions per month on either a reading assignment from the book or from online material. Be prepared to share your opinion. He doesn't want students to just regurgitate the material.
