I'm a creative Activewear Design professional with a body-conscious aesthetic and strong experience in designing performance through athleisure classifications, including fitness, dance, yoga and lifestyle. My focus is activewear that is comfortable and functional as well as flattering.

In-house development of women’s activewear and sleepwear for Jockey direct-to-consumer and global markets. Product line included technical performance to casual apparel and accessories.
Implemented timely market research reports, concept illustrations and trend presentations to provide information for retail business unit to effectively write seasonal line plan.
Collaborated with Europe and Asia teams to make styles consumer-relevant for their markets while keeping within corporate vision.

DANSKIN Active division: Sketches, cads/presentation boards, tech packs, market research and brand history for Women’s Active and NYCB lines
Senior Designer
Danskin brand Women’s Active/Yoga, Performance/Triathlon and Dance/New York City Ballet line design and development. Focus was functional, comfortable, yet flattering workout apparel.
Styles chosen by Hilary Duff and Christie Brinkley for “Move for Change” campaign
Reestablished dancewear line leading to successful re-launch of the brand, from basic to fashion product, including Men’s fitness/rehearsal clothing
Groups designed were well received with good sell-through at Lord and Taylor, REI and specialty store accounts
Responsibilities included: working directly with sales team and buyers; supervising associate and assistant designers; daily communication with overseas factories
Creative Designer, Women's Activewear
Design: Women’s Activewear for Champion, Hanes, JMS and C9 Champion brands. Work with Design Director to actualize new brand principles into product silhouettes by classification (Lifestyle, Train, Run, Performance Bottoms, etc.) Design into specific slots where needed (running short, maternity, training jacket and other test programs) resulting in styles selling 3x better than inline product and getting adopted into ongoing line. Develop sub-palettes for specific categories. Liaison with bra team to properly implement sports bras into line with regard to color and function. Collaborate with merchandising to present concepts to and refine line for Target and Walmart buying teams and multi-channels of distribution.
Design Staff: Responsible for hiring and training new full time Associate as well as Assistant-level designers for our team, as well as manage an ever-changing freelance staff. Organize workload for all, critiquing initial designs in keeping with Global Brand Vision design direction and making sure all internal deadlines are met.
Technical: Organize and review designers’ tech packs pre-handoff to be sure style details are clear to Tech Design team and our vendors. Point person for Tech Design team for fittings, follow up and updates. Work with internal cross-functional teams to deliver line on deadline.
PLM (Product Lifestyle Management program): Helped test the program prior to implementation and provided specific issues/information to the PLM development group. Started the women’s team early inputting products and information so that the other cross-functional teams could do their work on a timely basis. Training of new employees in using the program.
