Good
I'm on her classes a multiple times already and it was always a good time experience. Her lectures were easy to follow as well as her assignments. She will give a reading quits with 10 questions every week and will do lectures for the rest of the time. No phones or laptops were allowed in her class.
Good
Prof. Thurmond is amazing! Her lectures are really good. She's very passionate about the subject and she keeps the class really interesting. This class requires a lot of reading with weekly chapter quizzes but you get to use them and they become easier and easier. All of the quizzes come with word banks as well!
Awesome
Texas Government was a boring class. However, Professor Thurmond made it interesting. She took time to learn everyone's name. I learned a lot on her class. Attendance is 60 points out of 900 total. The three lowest quiz grades on reading can be made up. The tests were mainly over the reading quizzes, in matching type. Reading is not necessary, but it's helpful though. Overall, she's a great professor.
Awful
This class is not too hard. However, Professor Thurmond makes this class harder than it should be. Before pandemic, our midterm was 80 MC and 8 essay questions. Our final exam was online with 100 items of fill-in-the-blank questions with no review at all. Overall, she's uptight, extra, and will actually kick you out of her class.
Awful
Professor Thurmond is one of those teachers who are working against you, rather than working with you. She's very strict and a tough grader and late. She will not post her PowerPoints online. Also, it's difficult to follow her course because it gives boring lectures and does not offer extensive resources for you as a student. Overall, she's too uptight.
Awful
Professor Thurmond's lectures were very boring and monotonous. She does nothing to make it more entertaining. Her voice is squeaky and pinchy. She will let you out if you're not paying attention in class. Also, she will not post her PowerPoints online, nor allow you to take photos of the slides. In addition, she's a tough grader who gives horrible instructions for assignments as well. Overall, she's terrible.
Poor
Professor Thurmond's class transitioned online due to Covid-19. Then, she gave us hundred-question fill-in-the-blank exams, with no word bank nor reviews. So, if that doesn't tell you anything, I don't know what will. Her lectures are long and boring. There's no technology nor notes to take note of. She grades everything slowly. So don't expect to ever know your actual score.
Good
I loved Professor Thurmond. Her class is not at all difficult as long as you study for the weekly quizzes. Just do the few assignments she assigns on time. Your biggest fall in class will be failing quizzes. So, use Quizlet to study. The book is practically useless though.
