Journalism is an important tool to be used to understand what is taking place in the world. As we develop and apply the means of global communication we become aware of political and economic events that will change the choices and decisions that we will have to make in the future.

Professor Santana was my instructor for the News and Social Media class. Just to balance the previous comment from someone who was in my group, I would say I loved this class. He's caring and fair. In the classroom, the discussion is a big part and it's so enriching. For the few documents, he highlights the positive aspects and encourages us.

I had Professor Santana for News and Social Media in Spring 2020. The class was in person once a week. It was great before the transition to online classes, but it has become more rigorous online. The deadlines for participation in the discussion forum were unclear. And we got more work than we had in person. The topics were interesting though but, the lectures were too long.
