Professor Towns is an Assistant Professor of Culture and Communication at the University of Denver
with a joint appointment in the Critical Theory Program in the Philosophy Department. He is increasingly interested in “Man’s” representation in both science and philosophy. This leads Professor Towns to examine the intersections between race
gender
sexuality
class
time
and space. Thus
his areas of study include
but are not limited to
black radicalism
media and cultural studies
post- and decolonial studies
the philosophy and science of race
feminist and queer geography
and political economy. His research can be found in Social Identities: Journal for the Study of Race
Nation and Culture
Communication and Critical/Cultural Studies
and Women’s Studies in Communication.
