Ariel M. Cooksey has proven across disciplines the dynamic ability to produce exceptional and prolific scholarship. Described as "prodigiously talented" by her professors and a "secret weapon" by employers, she has also shown initiative and leadership in creatively tackling challenges on academic, organizational, community, and national levels. She has presented at regional, national and international conferences, and shows herself to be an apt public speaker with nearly 20 years of theatrical training contributing to her ease in building rapport. She has worked with all age levels including adults in a teaching, mentoring and therapeutic capacity, and has over a decade's worth of experience in curriculum development and design. She has been an advocate for marginalized populations since youth, and is a catalyst for social justice and positive change. She has a passion for learning and teaching, as well as raising awareness.

Safe Babies Coordinator for First3Years
Act as liaison and coordinator for all stakeholders in the child welfare system (judges, attorneys, wraparound services, CPS, ECI, QPI, TCU Institute for Child Development, CASA, etc) for the purposes of the Safe Babies initiative to serve infants through 3 year old children removed to foster care. Provide Fostering Relationships coparenting training for foster parents and mediate coparenting techniques for reduction of child trauma with the goal of reunification. Oversee education and curriculum, as well as distributive materials. Guide research evaluations of success metrics. Grant writing. Serve at statutory hearings. Produce reports and act as public liaison as necessary.

This theoretical content-analysis of existing literature on motherhood and literacy bridges a critical gap surrounding alternate forms of literacy found within the maternal experience. The focus our this piece is on visual or art journaling as a way to develop emotional competence, center one's self, and to experience motherhood visually and expressively using any number of collaborative media.

This study focuses on a series of in-depth interviews with self-identified transgender persons for the purpose of discerning any patterns that emerge with regards to their sexual orientation, gender identity, and experiences with transitioning to their desired sex. The study consisted of four in-depth interviews which were recorded, transcribed and coded in order to identify possible connections. The study contains discussions pertaining to the social construction of biological sex, as well as the complication of labeling within the transgender population.

The use of Kali, the Hindu goddess of life, death and rebirth, is symbolic in her many roles and literally many faces, arms, and legs.
