In both academia and non-profit advocacy work, I focus on community engagement, incorporating technology/media, mentoring, networking, public speaking, education/presentations, project development, collaboration, and creative problem solving. I strive to lead by example, while empowering others to hone their craft and follow their passion—for me, that passion is animal welfare.

  • Long Way Home

    Director, Branch Co-Creator

Long Way Home is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to save animals that traditional shelters and animal control facilities have deemed “unadoptable”, place them into a thriving foster system, and finding them loving, forever homes. Typically, these shelter animals are facing imminent euthanasia, based on perceived behavioral issues, chronic or terminal illnesses, breed bans, or lack of physical space.

We are able to save lives and accomplish our mission through networking with other nonprofit organizations, procuring future and potential financial donors, securing media relationships (television, blogs, online marketing sites and newspapers), collaborating with local businesses, empowering volunteers, and educating the community.
