Poor
Doctor Igrek wanted two eight page exams, which I didn't think would be so bad, but boy I was wrong. His prompts are extremely scarce like think one sentence, and the readings he has us do are trite at best and plodding at worst. He told us he'd count off when we were half a page over or under. His rubric was brutal. So avoid his class.
Awesome
Apple excels at facilitating discussions and fostering an open exchange of ideas. He takes the time to think about the questions that students ask. Although there is a lot of reading, the books are well-chosen and instructive. I actually graduated this sem and I will forever thank Apple and the two seminars I took with him for helping shape the way I consider and reason ideas.
Average
I don't know what to feel about Prof. Apple. He could make me laugh till I cried, but his curriculum was difficult, primarily because he became distracted throughout class and rarely covered topics. He tried to be structured, but it merely added to the students' workload. He's such a tough grader. I'd give him an A+ as a person, but a C- at best as a teacher.
