Dr. Angela Cooper Brathwaite, RN, Ph.D, graduated from the University of Toronto with a PhD in Nursing and has a Masters of Nursing from the University of Manitoba. She has national and international experience in Public Health, Maternal-Child, Mental Health and Community Health Nursing as well as teaching experience in academic and clinical settings. She has worked as a Staff Nurse, Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Practitioner, Director of Nursing and Program Manager. At present, she is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, where she conducts research, supervises Graduate Students theses and teaches in the Undergraduate Program.
Angela has received many awards and scholarships and was the recipient of the two awards in 2007: The Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Toronto and Service Excellence for Injury Prevention from the Regional Municipality of Durham. In April 2015, she received the Award of Merit from the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario and is currently a Board of Director, Member at Large Nursing Research at RNAO.
