Lacroix, P.E.
Reno, Nevada
I am passionate about finding and implementing sustainable ways to provide society with clean water, food, and energy to ensure a bright future for the next generation. I have a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering and a minor in renewable energy from the University of Nevada, Reno. Working on a PH.D.
Instructor
Taught "Quantitative Water Quality Analysis" at the University of Nevada, Reno to engineering students. Lectures are twice a week during the Fall semester on important parameters for water quality determination and then students are required to complete a weekly laboratory assignment to quantify various constituents in water samples.
Young Professional of the Year Award
Angel worked at Nevada Water Environment Assocation as a Young Professional of the Year Award
Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator of the Year Award

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator
Inspect primary treatment processes to ensure proper operation of the facility and report malfunctions to maintenance staff. Collect and composite laboratory samples following various treatment stages. Analyze samples to detect a reduction in efficiency or failure of a specific treatment process before downstream processes are affected.
Develop control strategies with the process control engineer for plant performance monitoring and adjustments.
Work on large scale engineering projects to ensure long term viability and develop standard operating procedures for new equipment.
Civil Engineer
Civil engineer and chemical handling specialist at a tertiary wastewater treatment facility. Update record drawings to reflect as-built conditions, manage chemical dosing into each treatment process to maximize efficiency and minimize cost, develop and implement strategies for process control training and development of treatment plant staff, ensure adequate transition and acceptance of new capital improvement projects to the facility, maintain and update electronic operations and maintenance manual, develop standard operating procedures for operators and mechanics as new equipment is introduced to the plant, connect University research to the treatment facility to ensure cutting edge research will benefit the plant and community, assist with the development of modeling software programs for beneficial use when exploring alternate process scenarios, develop and maintain public outreach communications to establish a good relationship between the public and the treatment plant.
Design Engineer
Overseeing the completion from design through construction of multiple engineering projects related to source water conveyance, drinking water treatment and distribution facilities. Working in the design engineering group, I am managing many consultants during the design, bid, and construction phases of public works projects, as well as, performing in-house design of systems to rehabilitate older infrastructure for capital improvement projects.
