Montgomery Prize for Exceptional Contributions by a Graduate Student
The Montgomery Graduate Endowed Fellowship Fund was established in February
by the Estate of Jeff Montgomery. This Montgomery Award is funded by income from that endowment and the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies felt it appropriate to award this Montgomery Prize to a student leader whose service has made a positive impact on the larger Texas A&M graduate student body. Students eligible for the Montgomery Graduate Endowed Fellowship are student leaders making major contributions to the academic opportunities and quality of life of their fellow graduate students here at Texas A&M. Whether it is through demonstrated leadership in international student groups or service organizations
students must show their dedication to serving Aggie graduate students in addition to excellent academics and scholarship.

Sorensen Institute - College Leaders Program
The College Leaders Program (CLP) gives students the practical skills and political knowledge to become effective advocates in government and business. The CLP is held each summer for two weeks on grounds at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. The program features a Virginia-focused
multidisciplinary curriculum with three main goals:\n\n-To prepare future leaders for ethical and responsible citizenship and public service in the Commonwealth.\n-To connect Virginia's youth leaders from different backgrounds and philosophies with each other and with current leaders in the government
business
and non-profit sectors.\n-To energize our democratic system of government by promoting civic engagement among youth leaders.\n\nIn 2007 the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching recognized the Sorensen Institute's College and High School Leaders Programs as among the very best in the nation and a national model when it comes to giving young people the skills and motivation to become politically engaged in their communities.
