As a clinical therapist and professor of Psychology I often encounter students under great distress. In my classroom every semester I come across young adults dealing with a tremendous amount of stress with a common theme of instability. I also see students who come to me with their academic problems
but the real problem is financial. They have to work an extra shift and they can’t make it to the class. Or they have to withdraw because they can’t afford it. \n\tSociety tells them they are adults
but many students out of high school are not necessarily prepared physically or mentally to embark on adulthood alone. Especially in college
the classroom is often a place of fear and failure.\n
