Awful
Here is a grain of salt you should take. She does not teach. You have to watch the videos. She does not teach. Everyone gets an A. You have to watch the videos. You look at Power Points. Everything is online. Take philosophy from someone else!
Awesome
Take the Feb-May ratings with a huge grain of salt. Our teacher left after a month and Ananda took over all of her classes. She did her best to teach us. She kept the original syllabus. She passionately loves philosophy. Quizzes were open book and online. An Easy A
Awesome
Love this professor, love the topics she teachers. She makes you feel free to talk and share personal experiences. It's great. There is great interaction during class. If I could, I would take all my classes from her. She is an absolutely amazing teacher.
Awful
The professor who used to teach this class will be missed. Professor Spike does not know anything about philosophy or religion. She doesn't know how to explain. She shows irrelevant videos and worst of all, she will call you out for writing a bad review online. Simply ridiculous. Find another class to take.
Average
I enjoyed the class, but she made it too simple. I learned more from reading it for myself rather than showing up for school. Nothing but videos from YouTube and random tangents. Not sure I want to take another class from her, but she she is really sweet and friendly, particularly given how tiny our class was. I received an simple A, but I wish I learned more from it.
Awesome
Professor Ananda is amazing. If you want a great humanities instructor, you should take her. You do have to show up to class and do the huge amount of homework. On the other hand, it's all doable though. The homework will makes you think and helps you be a better person.
Awesome
This is the second time I've had Ananda, She is absolutely incredible, never biased and she gives you so much information. I learned so much from her, she may end up changing your mind, even if you think you may have your opinions and ethics firm. I strongly recommend this class and any classes she teaches.
Poor
In Professor Spike's class, assignments weren't so bad. However, they were repetitive and she doesn't give feedback. Sometimes, she seemed everywhere and she had weird adult sites looked up at her computer and television. The televisions or computers were connected. It was uncomfortable and made others and myself extremely uncomfortable, which was difficult for me because, I usually love Humanities.
Awesome
Professor Spike is an amazing teacher. She's really passionate about her class. Her lectures were so interesting that it made time go by so quickly! She cares about her students too. There are papers that may be long, but there are only like three of them, so it wasn't that bad. Her homework was easy too. I would definitely take another class under her.
Awesome
Prof. Spike gives lots of homework, but it was a pretty easy class. Also, she gives good insights and presentation of material. I really learned a lot from her. There were lots of extra credit assignments to help you get an A!
Awesome
Professor Spike's is one of the best classes I've taken so far. She's an amazing professor, who really cares about what she teaches you. All of her lectures were very interesting and each student was able to express their own ideas. If you want to take a Humanities course, I would recommend her class.
Awesome
She's one of the smartest people I've ever met. She really likes learning and always has something interesting to say. She'll make you think about everything you know and it will change your life. I just joined her world religions class and I wish I could be in all her classes.
Average
She knows a lot about her subject, but she can be kind of harsh. The class had a hard time keeping up with all her homework. We had about five or six tasks due every week, which seemed way too much for a beginner's class. Also, we were also assigned two ling essays, each of which had to be at least four or five pages long. If you're someone who likes to put things off, I wouldn't suggest taking her class.
