External Appeals Specialist
As the External Appeals Specialist, I interface with the New York Dept. of Financial Services regarding members' external appeals. During the course of my duties, I monitor the inbox, respond to the State's requests and standard/expedited appeals notices within the mandated 1 hour clock, outreach various departments and vendors within and outside of Healthfirst, including clinicals, Caremark, and Dentaquest.
When not dealing with External Appeals, I work as an AG Letter Writer, sending out timely correspondence (complaint acknowledgements and case resolution letters) in order to meet regulatory and compliance deadlines for Medicaid LOBs. I also help coordinate next steps to help the A&G specialists follow up and close out their cases.

I help process, inventory, and catalogue new and donated library materials. Duties and necessary skills for this position:
