Good
I enjoy the class. Professor Kirshner is okay. His grading is based on papers and a final.
Awesome
Prof. Kirshner is a good lecturer. He makes lectures interesting and funny. Attendance was only mandatory in discussion section but not in lectures. Also, participation was crucial in section. Your grades depend on the TAs because they are the ones who grade it. However, I felt like the class expectations and grading were really fair and clear.
Awesome
I really loved Prof. Kirshner! He is a good lecturer who breaks down the readings and he is even hilarious while doing it. Class consisted of an in-class midterm/final and one paper. Readings are pretty optional. I actually never did them before cramming for tests and paper and I still did fine. I find Ethics of War an interesting topic as well.
Awesome
Professor Kirshner is amazing. He can turn boring materials into interesting ones, through his funny lectures. His grading can sometimes be unpredictable since all of it is done by teacher assistants. Other than that, nothing is too bad. Flunch him if you can, he's a really great guy with some great tips. I absolutely suggest you take his class.
Awesome
Some of the texts are a bit dense which isn't shocking, since this is a political philosophy class. However, they are worth wading through because of Professor Kirshner's thoughtful discussion in lectures. Not many people can make a class laugh when covering social contract theory, but he's a treasure. Please do take his class.
