Higher education project development and management
• Responsible for initiating and sustaining an externally-funded research program centered on undergraduate student involvement. Specific duties include: grant writing, submission, and management; dataset acquisition, analysis, and presentation; student mentorship and advising
• Current lead on externally-funded, multiyear (2015-19) project that has provided 8 undergraduate research opportunities and produced 7 conference presentations and 2 pending journal articles
• Research mentor for 2-4 senior Capstone research projects per year
Dataset acquisition and quantitative analysis
• Geologic database construction through field/lab acquisition and/or mining of published datasets
• Statistical multivariate model analysis (R and Matlab) of geochemical and climate datasets
• Extensive experience with geologic field sampling/mapping and geochemical laboratory analysis
Technical expertise
• Proficient with Matlab, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, ArcGIS
• Working proficiency with R, GMT, shell programming
• Experience with Fortran, C, C++
