Artreach delivers all manner of art opportunities to under-served children and elderly. In 2007
the organization experienced a bit of a crises. I was asked to be president and we were able to turn things around such that the Chronicle of Philanthropy wrote a feature story on us. It was a great experience with great people.

I can't remember the exact year- about '84 - I was invited to join and become a member of the Cattle Baron's Ball committee
the single largest fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. It was a fantastic organization and still is. Years after I joined my own son was diagnosed with leukemia. This gave additional
highly personal gravitas to the experience. I became the Chairman of the Children's Party
a pre-ball event for kids with cancer which grew into one of the most beloved aspects of putting on the overall event.

AFB is the organization that Helen Keller donated most of her memorabilia to. The group focuses on helping people with sight loss live normal lives. In Dallas
we built a center whom people the world over visit
from opera stars to architects to families. At the Center
we have a model apartment which is designed to provide ideas to improve the lives of those living with impaired sight. It is a terrific organization!
