Oceanography, Physical
In 1987 I was recruited by Dr. Worth Nowlin at Texas A&M University, while I was working for the Argentine Antarctic Institute in MAPCOWS, a joint research project in the Argentine Basin. After the recovery of a large 1-year mooring array I started graduate school at TAMU, earning a M.S. in 1990 and a Ph.D. in 1993. During this time I learned skills typically use in descriptive oceanography, to portray and quantify the water mass transformations, flow paths, and mixing histories of waters in transit through the vast domain of the Southern Ocean.
