My primary responsibilities were to ensure the quality release of both desktop-based and web-based mortgage document software products. This was done with various type of testing (use cases
regression testing
etc.) and required me to debug code in C# and VB6
as well as run SQL queries to identify issues. While working as a software QA specialist
I also worked with a team of 3-5 people to re-design an outdated desktop application. Additionally
I was responsible for writing and editing documentation on how to use and install our software products in conjunction with our technical writer. I also provided internal and external product training
and assisted with the implementation of MISMO standards (XML) into our software products.

I designed and conducted qualitative and quantitative user experience and usability research on various speech-enabled software products. Much of my work focused on early prototypes
and was used to inform current and future product design.

My primary responsibilities as a customer support representative were to take incoming phone calls to resolve problems with software use
updates
and installations. This also required gaining a familiarity with many of the mortgage laws and regulations
as problems often required knowledge of the mortgage industry to solve. I also worked with account managers to setup new customers
and transition customers from the desktop-based application
ConformX Desktop
to the web-based application
ConformX.

My focus
as part of a small team
was on designing and testing multimodal interactions with the PC
using eye tracking
voice recognition
and motion sensing. This work required me to conduct extensive literature reviews
provide design suggestions
test the resulting system
and evaluate it in the laboratory and in real-world settings. This included assessing the usability of the system (with standard scales and through diaries)
and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data.

I was responsible for both conducting research and acting as a graduate teaching assistant. While conducting research
I was responsible for generating novel ideas for research
creating experiments to test these ideas
analyzing the data
and disseminating the results. This involved the use of various tools
ranging from SPSS for statistics
to using ePrime for data collection. Additionally
I programed many of my own experiments in C++ and C#.\n\nBelow is a list of the courses I have taught and that I have been a teaching assistant.\n\nInstructor of Record:\nPerception\n\nTeaching assistant in:\nResearch Methods and Statistics\nPerception\nPsychology of Aging\nForensic Psychology\nBasic Learning Processes\nPhysiological Psychology\nPsychology of Career Development
