Dr. O'Sullivan has served as Associate Dean for NYIT's School of Management operations in the Middle East, Director of NYIT's Global Academic Programs, Campus Dean, Chairman of the SOM Department of Management, MIS and Marketing and is an Associate Professor of Management specializing in Organizational Dynamics and Knowledge Management. He earned his Doctorate in Engineering Management and a Masters degree in Information Systems and Information Management from the George Washington University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of Ulster in the UK.

His research interests include MIS, Information and Knowledge Security, Knowledge Management, and Intellectual Capital Management. He serves on the Editorial Board of two top level academic journals, the Journal of Information and Knowledge Management (JIKM) and VINE: The Journal of Information and Knowledge Management Systems (VINE) as Associate Editor.

Prior to joining NYIT he was Executive Vice President of Vistech Systems in VA. Before that he served as Global Practice Director for Computer Associates with responsibility for Knowledge Management and Security Solutions. He has served on the Board of Advisors for several companies and organizations. He has conducted business in many places around the globe including Australia, China, France, UK, Ireland, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Singapore, USA, Germany, Bahrain, Jordan, Canada, Austria, Hong Kong and visited many more.

His non academic work includes consulting to the SCUBA Industry and he serves as PADI Course Director for 3 Dive Centers.
